Meeting with Arni

On Saturday, February 2nd a group of like-minded artists and art lovers met with Arni Fishbaugh of the Montana Arts Council (MAC) at the ArtSpot Gallery. Arni gave an overview of the MAC, spoke about the Lively Times and State of the Arts publications, grant opportunities, and how other small towns in Montana are getting the word out about local contemporary artists, musicians, folklorists, etc.

One of the many things that came out of Arni's visit was the need for artists to have a way to communicate with other artists within as well as outside the county. ArtSpot Gallery decided to start this blogsite in the hopes that it will help foster communication, the sharing of ideas, etc.

Thank you Arni for taking the time to talk with us! Your visit inspired and energized us!

Montana Arts Council Comes to Glasgow

Arlynn (Arni) Fishbaugh, Executive Director of the Montana Arts Council (MAC) will be at the ArtSpot Gallery in the Soma-Dis Deli on Saturday, February 2nd from 10 am until noon. The Montana Arts Council is the agency of state government established to develop the creative potential of all Montanans, advance education, spur economic vibrancy and revitalize communities through involvement in the arts.

Artists in all mediums, writers, dancers, actors, musicians, story tellers, poets - anyone participating in or interested in the arts - is encouraged to meet Arni and learn how the MAC can help, whether it be through possible grants, subscribing to the State of the Arts or Lively Times newspapers, learning about ways to network with others and additional service organizations specializing in the arts across Montana.

Arni is eager to meet everyone involved in the arts in Valley County and wants to learn about their needs and what services the MAC has that might be of help.

Light refreshments will be served and this event is free and open to everyone. Please contact either Toni or Laura at artspotgallery at gmail dot com.
